Providing medical services to 82,000 women through the Maternal and Fetal Health Initiative in Minya

Major General Osama El-Qadi, Governor of Minya, said that the Directorate of Health continues to implement the work of the presidential initiative to take care of “maternal and fetal health”, by providing free medical and treatment services to women in all governorate centers, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in the interest of the safety and health of Egyptian women.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Nadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Minya, stated that 3,205 pregnant women were examined during the month of February, as part of the activities of the presidential initiative to care for the health of the mother and fetus, adding that 82,703 pregnant women were examined since the beginning of the initiative in all governorate centers.

Dr. Ahmed Khalil, Director of the Basic Care Department and Coordinator of Presidential Initiatives in Minya Governorate, indicated that the initiative aims to examine pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until delivery, with the aim of early detection of many diseases, the most important of which are hepatitis B virus, “syphilis and human immunodeficiency virus”, to As well as checking the pressure and taking physical measurements of weight, height and blood sugar, in order to prevent the transmission of diseases from the mother to the fetus.

He added that the initiative is taking place in 260 health units and medical centers, in all health departments at the Minya governorate level, through trained medical teams, while taking all necessary preventive and precautionary measures and following infection control methods.

Dr. Mohamed Nadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Minya Governorate, had announced that 2,128 free operations were performed in various specialties in the period from the first of January until the end of February 2022.

This comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s initiative to eliminate waiting lists to ease the burdens on citizens, under the patronage of Major General Osama El-Qadi, Governor of Minya.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health added that the operations included (1031 eye surgeries – 205 brain and neurosurgery – 132 tumor surgery operations – 576 cardiac catheters – 50 open-hearted – 97 orthopedic surgery – 23 vascular and peripheral catheterization surgeries – 14 brain catheters), noting that The directive was directed at facilitating obstacles, saving time, and solving problems facing citizens.
