‘Proud Boys’ leader sentenced to 17 years for storming US Capitol

Washington – A leader of the far-right militia Proud Boys was sentenced to 17 years in prison on Thursday for the storming of the US Capitol in January 2021. Prosecutors said Joe Biggs was one of the central figures in a “seditious conspiracy”. It is the second-highest prison sentence linked to the storming of the Capitol. Prosecutors had asked for 33 years in prison for the former soldier.
