The MASS, which is part of the Anti-Corruption Community, held a demonstration to express their opinions in front of the Red and White Building of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
They demanded that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) immediately resolve the alleged business monopoly case in correctional institutions (prisons) carried out by Yamitema Laoly, the son of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly.
“The public has complained about this issue, but legal institutions have turned a blind eye. Is it because he is the son of a minister that he is not caught in the law?” said the Head of the Anti-Corruption Community, Mato Mony, during his speech.
Then, the Anti-Corruption Community also asked how far the KPK has processed the report of the alleged business monopoly. Because, the KPK has not informed the public how far the report has been processed.
“This is what we are afraid of friends. We are only rejecting the assumptions of the community, so that the law is not blunt at the top and sharp at the bottom,” said Mato.
“The KPK may have known about this issue, but the question is, how far has the KPK gone in investigating the money politics of this minister’s child, my friends?” he added.

In addition, they also hope that the KPK will immediately investigate the alleged nepotism committed by Yasonna. Because, procurement in prisons is always won by Yamitema through the Jeera Foundation.
“We suspect that the ministerial projects in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are controlled by Yasona Laoly’s children. This could certainly be included in nepotism. So we hope that the KPK will immediately conduct an in-depth investigation and inquiry,” said Mato.
Previously, former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo also urged the anti-corruption agency to announce to the public what processes had been carried out on the case report.

“Of course, the Corruption Eradication Committee must explain to the public, in addition to the relevant reporter, to what stage the report made by the public has reached,” said Yudi.
“Is it still being verified and validated or is there no initial evidence found to then be followed up to the next stage, namely investigation or what?” he continued.
Yudi said, the delivery of the reporting stage to the public is very important. Because, it is part of the transparency of the KPK.
“Because what is important for the public is that anyone can report, but what is important regarding the reporting is that the Corruption Eradication Committee must be transparent regarding the reporting,” he stressed. (Z-8)
