In response, a Facebook event entitled “Met korte broek en frigobox naar Knokke” (Editor’s note. “With shorts and a fridgebox in Knokke”) was born. “Just for fun,” the description reads.
Thousands of people (nearly 3,000 participants and 30,000 “interested” at the time of writing these lines) have already answered that they will be present on August 26th. It remains to be seen how many of them will actually go to Knokke on D-Day.
