Four Delhaize stores were once more blocked on Saturday morning due to protest actions by employees, the spokesman for the supermarket chain said. All the stores concerned are located in Wallonia: in Morlanwez and Montigny-le-Tilleul in Hainaut, as well as in Embourg and Amay in the province of Liège. Bailiffs were dispatched to the scene.

Delhaize employees have been opposing for months the lion brand’s decision, announced on March 7, to franchise the 128 stores that are not yet franchised. Earlier this week, the supermarket chain announced that an independent buyer had been found for the first 15 stores.
