A family court of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima, Peru granted protective measures for physical and psychological violence in favor of the wife of soccer player Christian Cueva, Pamela López.

In addition, the court prohibited Cueva from any type of act involving gender violence or approaching his wife, “under penalty of being criminally charged for disobedience to authority.”

The court also ordered psychological therapy for Cueva, López and their three minor children, as well as police patrols around the victim’s home.

On Monday, López, who was the footballer’s partner for 12 years, announced that she had filed a formal complaint against Cueva for physical and psychological violence, due to “very serious events” and said that she “fears for her life.”

The woman, along with her lawyer, explained the violence she had suffered and showed a video in which Cueva’s attacks can be seen.
