Protecting Your Privacy: How to Remove GPS Location Information from iPhone Photos Before Sharing

2023-12-18 03:00:00

Usually when you take a photo with an iPhone, the system will automatically write the GPS positioning information of the photographer’s current location directly into the photo to facilitate subsequent classification. However, when we want to share this type of photo with others, but do not want others to know the precise location when the photo was taken, we can actually add an additional processing step when sharing the photo to process the GPS positioning record contained in the photo. Delete to avoid leakage of private information.

Step 1. When opening photos on iPhone, the album will be sorted by default according to the user’s geographical location at the moment of shooting.

Step 2. Slide the photo upwards, and the detailed GPS positioning information of the photo will be displayed below. Sharing may cause privacy leakage.

Step 3. To remove the GPS information of the photo simultaneously when sharing the photo, first click the “Share” icon in the lower left corner.

Step 4. Then click “Options” above. If you want to share multiple photos at the same time, you can also choose to process them all at once.

Step 5. Click the “Location” switch to turn it gray, and then click “Done” in the upper right corner.

Step 6. After returning to the sharing screen, select the method and objects to share the photos with. The photos sent at this time will no longer contain GPS location information.
