Kidneys

Nephrology consultant, Dr. Saad Al-Shehaib, said, “There are 4 environmental hazards that negatively affect the health of the kidneys.”

Al-Shuhaib pointed out in a tweet posted on his official account on the “X” platform that “the kidneys are exposed to many harmful environmental factors, and this can cause many annoying health problems.”

He explained that these four dangers include:

1 – Dehydration: When there is a lack of fluids in our body, low blood pressure and a negative impact on the function of the kidneys may occur.

2 – Excessive use of painkillers and antibiotics: When these medications are excessively used, significant damage to the kidneys may occur and the risk of kidney problems may increase.

3 – Environmental pollution: Exposure to air pollution and polluted water in large cities may lead to damage to the kidneys and deterioration of their functions.

4 – Exposure to harmful chemicals: Chronic exposure to heavy substances, such as lead and hydrocarbons, may cause damage to the kidneys and deteriorate their functions.
