RTL staged the first two NFL preseason games. In principle, everything worked, the TV ratings were fine and NFL expert Björn Werner and Patrick “Coach” Esume were satisfied. But one thing bothers them really badly.
RTL presenter Jana Wosnitza, who switched from Sport1 to Cologne’s private broadcaster this summer, was treated to nasty comments and hate messages following her first two football shows on social media.
NFL on RTL: Björn Werner protects Jana Wosnitza
Ex-football professional Werner, who has been working as an RTL football expert since this year, was particularly annoyed regarding this: “I was so disappointed and I was really ashamed of Football Germany, how many people went well below the belt – before especially with Jana.”
“Yeah, that sucked. That was bad,” added “Coach” Esume. “Guys, we’re in the 21st century. We need women in this sport. They’re entitled. Look at America. All the women there are just as eloquent, if not more eloquent, and better informed than the men.”
RTL presenter Jana Wosnitza is showered with hate comments
Some RTL viewers had made disparaging comments on social media regarding the appearance and appearance of Wosnitza, who is a fantastic sports presenter. She recently demonstrated this impressively at Sport1 in the legendary “double pass” and at the darts and ice hockey world championships in 2022.
“This woman, if you had seen how she has prepared over the past few months and how important the NFL is to her, I can only say that she is absolutely professional and does everything to support her selection for this job to justify RTL”, says Werner in the podcast “Football Bromance“.
“Of all the comments regarding Jana it felt like more women than men. But especially as a woman you should know how hard it is in a job dominated by men. How hard it is and that you have time for someone have to get used to it.”
Björn Werner: “It’s crazy how disgusting and sexist some people write”
Technically, there are no unanswered questions regarding Wosnitza, but some users on social media were apparently bothered by her and poured out their hate comments regarding her. “It’s absurdly blatant how disgusting and sexist some people write,” said Werner protectively in front of his colleague.
“Some people seem to confuse some things. Constructive criticism is something different than just spreading hate and insulting others. That makes a huge difference. If you write, I miss Icke. OK. But what does the aunt look like? There there were things where I thought ‘holy shit’. I was ashamed of that,” said Werner.
“Would you like it if someone or your boss puts a message like this on your table when you come in in the morning? That you’re just as insulted and insulted?” Asked Werner, who countered the hateful comments on the internet Wosnitza condemned in the strongest terms.
