This is particularly the case of Raphaëlle Morel, 21, who made a publication in one of the many Facebook groups dedicated to the rental of FEQ passes in order to be able to attend the Pitbull show.

A man, with the fictitious name of Alex, wrote to him to offer to lend him two access passes for the amount of $100.

However, a security deposit of $200 was required to ensure the return of the rental.

The fraudster even presented her with a fake health insurance card to reassure her.

Reluctant, the young woman still agreed to send him the money.

“He sent me his confirmation that he had bought the festival passes, his health insurance card, he reassured me, says the festival-goer. I wired him $200.

“Yesterday I received a message on the group saying that this person was a fraud. He changed his name and he blocked me. So, nothing more to do.”

This situation represents a lot of sadness and anger for her.

“I cried with rage. I am a student, $300 is two and a half weeks worth of groceries,” adds the young woman.
