In the Saratov region, due to an increase in the number of people infected with an enterovirus infection that causes meningitis, additional restrictions have been introduced. This was announced by the head of the region Roman Busargin in the Telegram channel. To date, 121 people have fallen ill with neighbors, of which 105 are children. All patients are under special medical supervision.

In this regard, Ulyanovsk residents are warned regarding the danger of enterovirus infection. The risk of infection increases significantly in the summer, says Valeria Rechnik, head of the infectious diseases department of the Central City Clinical Hospital of Ulyanovsk.

– If you swim on the beach, do not swallow water, following swimming, be sure to take a shower in order to get rid of this pathogen. There are no specific antiviral drugs for this infection. Most often, pathogenetic treatment is used here, aimed at restoring the hydrobalance of the body and stopping fever. If a person has a temperature rise above 38 degrees, it is necessary to take antipyretic drugs. If there are violations of the gastrointestinal tract, it is necessary to solder the patient with drugs such as Regidron in order to restore the water-salt balance. Pancreatic drugs and enterosorbents are also used, – said Valeria Rechnik.
