While Netflix has severely restricted password sharing, it hasn’t completely removed it. And for subscribers who do, there’s one mistake most of them make: having the same password on their Netflix account as everything else.
The American site All About Cookies, dedicated to computer security, conducted a large-scale survey to assess the habits of the general American public. Conclusion: they are pathetic, and the site has highlighted a dangerous practice on Netflix.
Indeed, if account sharing is no longer authorized, except by paying a supplement, some still indulge in this practice, whether clandestinely or by taking out the credit card.
However, many Internet users have a very bad habit: using the same password for absolutely everything. And for those who share their Netflix account, or any other such service, it’s even worse, as 42% of them revealed that they had shared their login data with another.
Even if this person is not trying to harm you, it is quite possible that they themselves make a mistake that might compromise the security of your data. This is why it is extremely important not to use the same password for accounts shared with others, and those which contain the most confidential information.
