Prostate cancer risk factors

1- age

Age is a factor that controls the chances of developing prostate cancer, as men under the age of 40 rarely develop it, but the risk of developing it increases following the age of 50.

At age 65 and older, 6 out of 10 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer.

2- family history

Prostate cancer is included in the list of hereditary diseases, as the chances of exposure to it more than double in men who belong to families, in which one or more members of the first degree, such as a father or brother, have been diagnosed before.

Prostate cancer caused by the genetic defect is linked to hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer, also known as Lynch syndrome.

4- Calcium-rich diet

Despite the importance of calcium for the health of the body, but some studies have shown that there is a relationship between eating more foods rich in it or its nutritional supplements and a higher risk of prostate cancer.

Therefore, natural sources of calcium, such as dairy products, should be eaten in moderation, with the need to consult a doctor before taking his supplement tablets, to determine the appropriate dose.
