Prosecutors seize Noh Woong-rae’s office… tens of thousands of dollars in bribery charges

    Prosecutors are conducting a search and seizure of the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Noh Woong-rae on charges of bribery and violation of the Political Fund Act.

    The 2nd Anti-Corruption Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office has been confiscating and searching the office of the National Assembly Members’ Hall in Yeouido and Mapo-gu district of Congressman Roh from the afternoon of today (16th).

    Rep. Roh, a fourth-term leader, is accused of receiving tens of thousands of won in 2020 with a solicitation from Mr. Park, a businessman.

    Mr. Park is a person who provided money and valuables to Lee Jeong-geun, former vice secretary general of the Democratic Party, in return for a favor.

    On the 19th of last month, the prosecution arrested and indicted Lee on charges of receiving a total of 940 million won from Mr. Park.

    Rep. Roh, who served as the director of the Democratic Institute for Democracy, a think tank of the Democratic Party, expressed his resignation in September.
