In addition, the prosecution, which is investigating the bribery suspicion of Democratic Party lawmaker Noh Woong-rae, has launched a search and seizure of the office of the Digital Policy Officer of the National Assembly.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office’s Anti-Corruption Investigation Division 2 sent prosecutors and investigators to the Office of Communications and Digital Policy at the Yeouido National Assembly this morning to secure server data related to Rep. Roh’s bribery allegations.

Rep. Roh is accused of receiving 60 million won in back money from a businessman in 2020 along with various business and personnel requests.

Earlier, the prosecution requested an arrest warrant for Rep. Roh, and as an incumbent member of the National Assembly, Rep. Roh has the privilege of not being arrested without the consent of the National Assembly during the session.

At the plenary session of the National Assembly tomorrow, Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon will directly explain the necessity of the arrest, and if a majority of the current lawmakers attend and approve more than half of them, the motion for arrest will be passed.

Rep. Roh’s side issued a statement and criticized, “The day before the vote on the motion for arrest, re-seizure and search of the National Assembly server, which has already been seized and searched, is just a ‘show’ by the political prosecution.”
