It is known that Rep. Park Sang-hyeok of the Democratic Party of Korea has been on the cusp of investigation in relation to the Moon Jae-in administration’s ‘Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy blacklist’ suspicion.
The 6th Criminal Division of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office is said to have captured the circumstances in which Rep. Park worked as an administrator in the Blue House’s senior human resources office in the early days of the Moon Jae-in administration, contacted officials in the Ministry of Industry, and intervened in the process of urging the heads of agencies to resign.
MBC tried to call several times to inquire regarding Rep. Park’s position, but she did not receive a call.
The substantive examination of the warrant of former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Paik Un-gyu, who was requested for an arrest warrant on charges of pressuring the heads of subordinate institutions to resign, will be held this morning.
Prosecutors are expected to argue that it is necessary to secure new recruits for former Minister Baek in order to advance the investigation to higher-level officials such as Rep. Park.
The Minister of Gender Equality and Family of the Moon Jae-in government and the vice minister were also recently summoned to the prosecution and questioned.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office’s 2nd Public Investigation Division recently investigated former Minister Chung Young-ae and former Vice Minister Kim Gyeong-seon as suspects for involvement in the provision of draft policies for the Ministry of Recreation to be used in the Democratic Party’s presidential campaign promises.
Earlier, in November of last year, the National Election Commission filed a complaint once morest former Vice Minister Kim and a former public official who was a member of the Democratic Party’s policy research committee for requesting data to be used for election promises to each department within the Ministry of Leisure.
It is said that the prosecution is expanding the investigation to see if a similar thing happened in other elections.
