Harassment – Expressive

Books – Mahmoud El-Shorica:

The Old Cairo District Prosecutor’s Office is still investigating an incident in which a tuk-tuk driver was accused of harassing a woman, causing her to jump out of the vehicle while it was in motion and causing injury.

Prosecutors ordered the defendant be referred to a medical examiner to determine whether he was under the influence of drugs and to prepare a report on the victim’s injuries.

The victim stated during the investigation that she was riding a tuk-tuk when she was returning home from work. The driver of the tuk-tuk made an obscene gesture, so she asked him to stop and get out of the car. He did not respond to her, which prompted her to get out of the car while he was driving. She was injured following jumping out of the tuk-tuk.

The Cairo Security Service’s Old Misr police station received reports that a woman jumped from a tuk-tuk and suffered fractures to her facial bones and left humerus because the driver harassed her and refused to stand.

Through investigation and gathering of information, the driver was identified and arrested once he got into the vehicle, he admitted to the incident, a report was written and the prosecution took over the investigation.
