When the opposition and opposition parties reached an agreement on the arbitration plan, the prosecution was shocked.

An unprecedented event occurred in which the prosecution’s leadership, including President Kim Oh-soo, resigned, and the prosecution made a clear objection to the arbitration proposal, saying that it was only a suspended proposal.

Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo and the chief prosecutors across the country all resigned in protest once morest an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties to arbitrate.

This is the first time in the 70-year history of the prosecution since the establishment of the government.

President Kim Oh-su expressed his resignation once more four days following President Moon Jae-in rejected the resignation.

He said, “I will take responsibility for all this and submit my resignation letter,” but it is said that he left the words “there is nothing more that can be done” to the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office officers.

After the prosecution began in earnest, he visited the National Assembly three times for a fortnight and tried to persuade Chairman Park Byeong-seok, etc.

Shortly therefollowing, Deputy Prosecutor Park Seong-jin of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office and all six senior prosecutors across the country resigned.

Prosecutors took a position that they “strongly oppose” the arbitration proposal.

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that the arbitration plan is in fact only delaying the implementation period for a while, emphasizing that there are serious procedural problems with setting a target deadline without proper discussion.

The arbitration plan reduced the number of crimes directly investigated by the prosecution from six to two, and also deleted ‘official officials and election crimes’, but the Supreme Prosecutor said, “I didn’t think that the ruling and opposition parties would unilaterally enforce this together like this,” he expressed his embarrassment.

As the chiefs of the national prosecutor’s office also hinted that they would not resign, there is a forecast that the general resignation of the command team might lead to ‘expression of the relay company’.

Since the chaos in the criminal justice system ultimately leads to harm to the people, attention is focused on whether the prosecution can find an opportunity for a reversal in the shock wave of political circles.
