The Sindh government has proposed to provide solar panels and 100 units of electricity free of charge to the poor people due to lack of electricity.
Sindh Chief Minister said that by providing solar home system to two lakh households, they can be provided with three LED bulbs, 35 WDC fans and 100 watt panels with capacity of six hours battery backup and mobile charging ports.
In response to a question, Nasir Hussain Shah told the Sindh Chief Minister that if large quantities are purchased, the price per SMS will be five thousand five hundred rupees.
In the meeting, Energy Minister Nasir Shah also presented a proposal to the Sindh Chief Minister regarding micro-grids and said that six micro-grids, each of which is 75 KW can meet the needs of 100 households and it will be established at the divisional level. can be done which will provide 100 kilowatt hours unit per month.
The energy minister said that each grid would cost around Rs 30 million.
The Energy Minister also proposed the establishment of three solar parks with a total capacity of 350 MW in the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House.
Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that people will get good news regarding electricity very soon, we are starting to supply 200,000 solar panels through the World Bank.
Speaking at the Solar Wind Hybrid Project workshop in Karachi, Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that the energy policy has been made and now we need your suggestions, our provincial government has started the process of supplying 100 units of electricity.
