Prophet Day was celebrated in Oman in memory of the Prophet. In Oman, under the leadership of various Muslim expatriate groups, Mawlid recitation and art competition programs for children were staged.
Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, Syed Shihab bin Tariq Al Saeed, presided over the ceremony held at Al Maulid Hall of Al Alam Palace on behalf of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.
Members of the royal family, ministers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police, heads of diplomatic missions of Islamic countries in Oman and several under secretaries attended.
In Oman, under the leadership of various Muslim diaspora groups, Mawlid recitations and food offerings were held at various places. Speakers also exhorted everyone to be ready to imbibe the values and lessons from the Prophet’s life in the celebration programs held at various places. Prophet’s day programs will be held under the leadership of various organizations in the coming days.
