FC Groningen returns to the Eredivisie! With the win over Roda JC, the Pride of the North finished second behind champion Willem II in the Kitchen Champion Division; good for direct promotion.
Due to the promotion, head coach Dick Lukkien’s team will be honored in Euroborg on Sunday followingnoon. The promotion party starts at 12 noon at the Supporters Square in front of Euroborg. The stadium gates open an hour later at 1 p.m. The official ceremony in the stadium starts at 2 p.m. Admission on Sunday is free.
Program promotion party
12.00 noon: opening of Supporters Square at the front of the stadium
1:00 PM: Stadium open to the public
2 p.m.: start of official program of celebration with performances by:
- TikTok Tammo
- Brawls
- What Ans
- Marco Schuitenmaker
2.30 pm: players and staff appear on stage for tribute
3.15 pm: closing ceremony by Mark Vayne and G-Town Madness
4 p.m.: end of promotion party
Access to Euroborg
Access to the stadium can be obtained via entrances 1, 2 and 3 of Euroborg. The main building of Euroborg is closed. It is not allowed to bring (own) food and drinks inside. In the stadium, catering outlets have been opened on the inner circulation, where food and drinks can be purchased. Hot snacks can be purchased at the catering units with a deep fryer. Supporters can go to one of the containers for cold drinks. It is only possible to pay for purchases in Euroborg with PIN.
Maximum capacity
For security reasons, a maximum of 15,000 supporters are allowed to attend the ceremony in Euroborg on Sunday. This mainly has to do with the escape routes in the event of an emergency. The lower ring of the stadium is open, with supporters also having access to the field to take a place around the stage if desired.
For the ceremony: full = full. Entrance tickets will be provided at the stadium entrances. As soon as these are no longer available, the maximum capacity of 15,000 visitors has been reached.
