Mental health at work is an increasingly common phenomenon in companies that focus on generating programs to ensure the quality of life of their employees.
The psychological well-being of workers is an increasingly important issue in the business environment since it not only positively influences their quality of life but is also reflected in their work performance.
A WHO study suggested that following the pandemic, mental health disorders have increased. Today, 12 billion days of work are lost due to symptoms linked to depression and anxiety, with a negative impact of one billion dollars on productivity.
“Cognitive, behavioral and emotional well-being gives us tools to better manage conflict situations and enjoy healthy interpersonal relationships. In this way, all our potential is deployed and results are increased. at work”, commented Agustina Chichizola, Champion of the Wellbeing Program for Endava Argentina.
With the aim of adapting to the accelerated change that companies are experiencing today, more and more organizations are promoting programs where the focus is on people and they direct a large part of their actions towards generating working conditions and work environments each time. more flexible.
Have collaborators committed and motivated with the work they develop is the cornerstone of Endava Holistic Wellbeing Program, born in the context of the pandemic, is organized under 4 key pillars: Mind, Body, Home and Community. Thanks to its format: immersive and free access for the company’s +12,000 employees located in 25 countries around the globe, the internal communities are restorative spaces for those seeking progressive change that can be sustained over time.
According to an internal survey, 99.4% of employees who participated in workshops and masterclasses would recommend this program. On the other hand, the results indicate that +550 members of the organization access the benefit of memberships of apps such as Calm, Sworkit, Strava or Chess.com, to relax and lead a more balanced life.
“During 2023, we have held 18 workshops. In each meeting, since the conception of the Program, each Champion seeks to provide participants with practical tools and resources that allow them to achieve a balance between their personal and work lives. In this sense, these events were broadcast live, reaching, on some occasions, an attendance of more than 6,000.”
Health and emotional well-being, the best investment
For Chichizola: “it is an honor and a commitment to be part of the select group of 26 Endavans, around the world, recognized under the Champions badge. Our specialization in health, psychology or other strategic areas allows us to offer guidance and/or emotional support to be able to detect indicators, and address any crisis situation internally.”
Promoted by the organization, there are different communities, which currently have more than 1,400 members, where exchanges are promoted on various triggers, debates where everyday experiences are shared, and information on topics such as: yoga, motherhood, nutrition , travel, recreation, books, sports (running, cycling), among others.
The degree of participation that exists among the Endavans who are part of these events is notable, as well as the sharing of their own experiences that generate debates. “We know that they are spaces gained when it comes to mental health. Being able to have resources of this type such as books, class recordings and wellness modules to be able to have better overall health make a difference.”
Today is to highlight the importance of having solid, united work teams, with spaces where the collaborator and their environment are valued. And above all, that the person comes to work, knowing that he can have a debate of ideas, or the defense of a project while maintaining a good bond with his colleagues. This also generates a healthy work space that has a lasting impact over time.
