Kerala (India) wants to promote its decentralized cooperation with Vietnam
As part of his official visit to Kerala, a state located in southwestern India, from July 4 to 6, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai met with Governor Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan, and other state officials.

Ambassador Nguyên Thanh Hai said that from August 12, Vietjet will open a direct flight from Kochi city of Kerala to Ho Chi Minh City, with a frequency of four flights per week.
This is a breakthrough, helping to strengthen cooperation between Kerala and localities in Vietnam, he added.
For his part, Governor Sri. Pinarayi Vijayana expressed the wish to strengthen cooperation with localities in Vietnam, especially in delegation exchanges, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, IT, entrepreneurship, education.
Nguyên Thanh Hai visited Trivandrum Technology Park and discussed cooperation potentials and opportunities. Currently, a number of companies located in this park are collaborating with Vietnamese companies to provide technological solutions in certain fields, including electric vehicles. In addition, many companies will continue to welcome Vietnamese students for internships.
In order to prepare for a new wave of tourists when the direct flight Kochi – Ho Chi Minh City is put into operation next August, the Vietnamese Embassy in India has coordinated with Vietjet Air to launch a promotion program tourism and trade.
In 2019, before the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, the number of visitors to Kochi in Vietnam had reached over 11,300. Vietjet’s new line is expected to help bring regarding 1,500 additional passengers per month to Vietnam from this part of India.
