Residents of Home Valère Delcroix were thus able to travel to Bruges where they visited the Historium, a virtual and interactive museum, the Pairi Daiza animal park and the Brussels natural history museum. Excursions to the Illusion Brussels museum and the Plopsaland amusement park are also planned for these people with disabilities, as well as participation in an expression workshop and a fishing training trip.

The children of the General Residential Service Les Carliers benefit from cinema screenings, go on nature walks and bike rides. The children of the Education and Leisure Center created, at the initiative of Canal J-AMO, a fresco which represents a pond on a building in the Carbonnelle residence. On August 24, children attending the “Clair Matin” crèche will travel by tourist train to the Tournai Natural History Museum.

The Les Oliviers reception centre, which accommodates and supports young adults aged 18 to 25 with psychosocial difficulties, has set up recreational excursions to Bellewaerde Aquapark and the Tournai bowling alley. A tree climbing activity and cinema outings are still planned by the end of the month.

Strengthen inclusion

The management and staff of rest and care homes are also not short of ideas for residents. On August 20, À l’Ombre du Temps and Benjamin Grugeon will host the Royal Automobile Club du Hainaut, which will introduce residents to vintage vehicles. On July 20, Le Moulin à Cailloux hosted a magic show.

These are activities among others, most of which take place, often in another form, at other times of the year. “All these activities aim to strengthen the inclusion of people accommodated in reception facilities by promoting their participation in sporting, cultural and professional life”, specifies the President of the CPAS, Laetitia Liénard. “This is one of the objectives of the Transversal Strategic Program”.
