Promoting financial inclusion of producers settled in Indert colonies

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The National Institute for Rural and Land Development, the National Development Bank and the Agricultural Credit Facility have begun working together to finance producers settled in colonies authorized by the agricultural entity.

In the first stage, it will benefit some 1,400 families in the northern part of the country, including those who have already obtained a property title and others who are in the process of obtaining title to their lands, according to the database provided by Indert to the two state financial institutions.

Teamwork between government institutions allows a significant number of people to access effective financing for financial inclusion, even before they have their property titles.

The president of INDERT, Francisco Ruiz Díaz, pointed out that land titling is a window of access to banking, with the joint work with the two state financial institutions, which join together to benefit producers supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

He stressed that land titling is the way to deal with microeconomics and that the government of President Santiago Peña is the first to carry out this through mass land titling.

In the first year of President Peña’s government, the same number of titles are already being handed out as were handed out during the previous government, exceeding 6,000 property titles.

It will strengthen small producers of family agriculture

He also stressed that the coordination of actions between the components of the MAG System, which is producing the first beneficiaries, is a task that will be strengthened so that small producers of family agriculture are the main suppliers of the food that will be distributed in educational institutions, within the Zero Hunger Program.

Through technical and financial assistance, the productive capacity of small producers can be increased in order to provide inputs for school lunches and snacks, as part of the Government’s ambitious project.
