Update (01/09/2023) – EB

Starfield is one of the big releases of the year, but unfortunately it only officially supports AMD FSR 2.2. On the other hand, the PureDark modder already fixed this problem in record time, as he had promised to release a mod that would bring NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS support to the game by September 6th.

We can say that PureDark broke a record, as it has been less than 24 hours since Starfield Premium was released in early access. In addition, two more modders released patches for players to extract the full potential of their GPUs, regardless of which technology they use.

Mods for Starfield can be downloaded by Nexus Mods through the links below, where you can also find instructions to apply them to the game.

In addition to these, there is even a mod created by Hellstorm102 that brings another feature that Starfield lacks: a field of view (FOV) manager. With it, you can set the size of the field of view in the first and third person in the game to aim at objects and enemies more easily.

Starfield: modder promises to bring NVIDIA DLSS 2 and 3 support at game launch

Starfield will be one of the big releases of the year for the Xbox Series X and S, but one piece of news left PC users disheartened: the game will not support NVIDIA DLSS 3 and Intel XeSS. However, modder PureDark promised to fix this issue at launch.

According to PureDark, support for NVIDIA DLSS 2 and 3 will be available via mod upon Starfield’s release on September 6, 2023 to the general public.

Official support for these rendering technologies will not occur due to an agreement signed with AMD to promote FSR, which is only available on AMD GPUs.

In this way, the PureDark mod will allow owners of NVIDIA RTX 40 series GPUs to run the game with graphics enhanced by DLSS 3, while other NVIDIA RTX graphics cards will have DLSS 2 technology.

This is great news for PC users as it reduces the chance of performance issues for Starfield, which will weigh in at 139.8GB on Windows.

Either way, we’re hoping Bethesda’s next release will be free of bugs found in other games recently ported to computers.
