Most people work digitally, with an increased reliance on the use of computers, phones and tablets, causing an almost 50% increase in dry eye cases in recent years.

“Symptoms of DED are burning sensation, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, watery eyes, most people are unaware of dry eye and do not use proper eye protection. Usually, these patients suffer from different eye diseases, if left untreated. In some cases, this condition can lead to eye inflammation,” he said.

Doctors say people with dry eye need a lifestyle change. Some cases require medications and interventional procedures.
