The cold shower. Through his website, the president of Valence Handball Julien Bertini published a very detailed press release on the situation of the club particularly following the Drômois appeared before the CNACG (National Commission for Aid and Management Control) on February 15.
This results in a big sanction: the Béliers therefore lose three points in the Proligue ranking plus one suspended sentence.
“In this new 2023/2024 season, the club is experiencing a new dynamic, both sporting and partnership, with objectives that match our real budget. As a precaution, because we are certain of the good control of our expenses, but still having ongoing discussions with our institutional and private partners for our revenues, we projected and presented on February 15, 2024, to the CNACG a pessimistic forecast landing at June 30, 2024 at less than 57,000 euros. Added to this some administrative failings, the CNACG took the decision to sanction us with 4 points in the ranking, 1 of which was suspended,” explains the club in the press release.
Valence Handball will appeal the decision to the CNCG (Control and Management Commission) and maintains the objective “to present to the CNACG a positive accounting situation as of June 30, 2024 with sufficient own funds to calmly prepare for the 2024 season -2025”.
If these three points were definitively removed, the Béliers would once once more find themselves fighting at the bottom of the ranking for maintenance but without being relegated before the meeting this Friday evening in Caen.
