Prolific Square Enix translator Koji Fox is currently working on Final Fantasy XVI

During “Producer’s Letter Live” for the upcoming show 6.1 Final Fantasy XIV Patch, held a Q&A session with Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida, Global Community Producer Toshio Moruchi and Catherine Koener of English Localization. During that episode, the team revealed that former English translator Cooji Fox has come out on the 14th and is currently working on Final Fantasy XVI.

One of Fox Square Enix’s top American translators, Michael Christopher Coogee has been with the company since the early 2000s. Fans have praised Fox’s work on localizing and translating Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and its improvements. However, Fox did not play a major role in some of the Shadowbrinkers’ later improvements.

The reason Fox is not the primary compiler for FF XIV is because Fox is very busy with FF XVI. But Fox still supervises and advises on the FF XIV translation and localization team.

The next major theme of the prestigious Final Fantasy series, which was first announced in 2020, is Final Fantasy XVI. Since that initial announcement, there has been very little news regarding the game. Yoshida promised to release more details regarding the game in 2021, but that year came without new information. Yoshida later apologized for the lack of news and promised to reveal new information for the game In the spring of 2022.
