Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Government is making progress in the process of implementing 250 new shelters and stopping points in the metropolitan area of Asunción.
To this end, the Projects Department of the Vice Ministry of Transport met with the technical teams of the Public Works Department, the Contracting Operational Unit and the Economic Planning Department of the Vice Ministry of Administration and Finance, with the aim of implementing new shelters and stopping points in the metropolitan area of Asunción.
This is a key project within the structural reforms designed to modernise public transport infrastructure.
In the first phase, 100 shelters and stopping points will be installed, with the budgetary feasibility already confirmed, reported the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).
The project is currently in the final stages of preparation, about to begin the bidding process, which will be supervised by the National Directorate of Public Procurement.
In total, the construction of 250 shelters and stopping points is planned in the metropolitan area of Asunción. In this initial phase, the 100 shelters will be placed in strategic locations, such as route PY03, departmental route D027 – Mariscal López and the Eastern Access – PY02.
The initiative aims not only to optimize the public transport service, but also to significantly improve the conditions in which passengers wait for the bus, thus underlining its commitment to the well-being of citizens.
