One of the most popular car manufacturers today (obviously, not in the sense we usually give to that term when referring to cars), Tesla To date, it has not adopted support for solutions such as CarPlay in their vehicle systems — and there is no indication that this will happen in the short term.

As we already showed last year, projects like the Tesla Android allow you to run CarPlay in the manufacturer’s cars. However, like practically all workarounds, connecting the car to Tesla Android might not be an easy task (nor very practical), as it required the installation of a Raspberry Pi with a customized module.

Much of this problem has been resolved with the latest system update. Reaching its version 2023.40.1, Tesla Android now offers the bundle Computing Module 4, which brings together all the hardware necessary for the solution to work in a single box.

Without requiring the user to rack their brains over their own equipment, the Computing Module Package 4 does not require complex assembly and comes with all accessories included, from the LTE modem to the CarPlay module properly installed.

O bundle comes equipped with 4GB of RAM, Wi-Fi support, a 64GB SD card and a slot NVME/PCI-E for future expansions. Additionally, there are connectivity options such as USB 2.0, HDMI and Ethernet ports.

The Tesla Android firmware, in turn, received some significant improvements, such as reducing CPU usage by up to 500%, bug fixes and other improvements.

O bundle with the CarPlay adapter and LTE modem with antennas it costs €310, but it is being sold to 290€ temporarily on the project’s official website.
