Project Hörstadt: A Conscious and Humane Design of the Acoustic Environment honored at Austrian Art Prize

Other award winners are Florentina Pakosta (visual arts), media artist Mathias Poledna, author Bodo Hell, Wilbirg Brainin-Donnenberg (film), Claudia Larcher (artistic photography), the Action Theater Ensemble (performing arts) and Musik Kultur St. Johann (cultural initiatives). Auböck + Kárász receive the Hans Hollein Art Prize for architecture.

“Project Hörstadt”

In the jury’s statement, the 60-year-old Androsch is honored for his diverse activities as a composer and for the development of the “Hörstadt” project. The project designed for the Linz Capital of Culture 2009 is regarding a conscious and humane design of the acoustic environment.

The Austrian Art Prize is awarded annually, and the Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature is awarded biennially by the Federal Ministry for Art, Culture, Public Service and Sport. The Hans Hollein Art Prize for Architecture has been awarded annually since 2016 and is also endowed with 15,000 euros. The awards are given to established artists for their diverse, internationally recognized oeuvre.
