Prohibition on the trial of the cipher case against Imran Khan is over

The Islamabad High Court lifted the injunction order on the assurance of the Attorney General to repeat the proceedings after December 14 in the cipher case and remarked that mistakes keep happening, let’s start the case afresh.

In the Islamabad High Court, a hearing was held on the appeals against the stay of the jail trial in the cipher case, the provision of copies and the in-camera hearing. Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the appeals of the founder PTI.

Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan appeared before the court on the order of the court, while Salman Akram Raja, Sikandar Zulqarnain and others appeared in the court on behalf of the founder PTI.

FIA hired retired Justice Hamid Ali Shah in the cipher case.

The Attorney General said that we will submit all the official documents related to the case to the court.

The Attorney General said that the decision of the division bench of this court was fully implemented, the trial decision of December 14 was not right, then record the statement of the witnesses again, if my colleague Salman Akram Raja agrees on this matter. Dispose of the request.

Salman Akram Raja took the stand that the trial court judge made a wrong decision twice, the court remarked that we all make mistakes, let’s start the case afresh.

During the hearing Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb referred to the Asfandyar Wali case, Salman Akram Raja argued that the trial should go back to where the illegality was decided.

The court said that the attorney general had told the court that the statements of the four witnesses had been recorded in-camera. Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb remarked that civil law is very different from criminal law.

The court spoke to Salman Akram Raja to see the preferences or constraints of the other side, the Attorney General said that we are again ready to record the statements of all 13 witnesses.

The FIA ​​prosecution said there are 25 witnesses in the case out of which the statements of 12 are still alive.

After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court reserved its decision on the application on the assurance of the Attorney General.
