Categories prohibited from eating mangoes
Despite the high nutritional value of mangoes, there are groups that are prohibited from eating them due to disease considerations, according to Dr. Bahaa Naji, a clinical nutrition consultant.

1- Mango allergic patients
Nagy added that it is better for people with latex allergy to stay away from mangoes, because they contain latex-like proteins that may stimulate their immune system to produce histamine, which causes disturbing symptoms in the body.

2- Kidney patients
The therapeutic nutrition consultant warned kidney patients not to overeat mangoes, due to its high content of salts, which may negatively affect their health.
He explained that there is another reason that requires kidney patients to pay close attention to the amount of mango consumed, which is that it contains 168 milligrams of potassium per 100 grams, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
3- People exposed to kidney stones
Nagy pointed out the danger of mangoes to people who are predisposed to kidney stones, as they contain high levels of oxalate salts.
4- Diabetics
The nutritionist confirmed that there is no objection to eating mangoes in light of diabetes, but it is required to consume them in moderation, because excessive amounts of them lead to high blood sugar, due to their sugar content.

5- Patients with high blood pressure
He revealed that mangoes may harm the health of patients with high blood pressure when consumed in large quantities, because they contain a percentage of the mineral sodium, but moderation in them helps them to benefit from the potassium available in them.
6- Patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome
According to the “Times of India” website, IBS patients are prohibited from eating mangoes, because they contain fermentable carbohydrates, which lead to flatulence and stomach cramps.
