Samantha Woll, president of a progressive synagogue in Detroit (United States) was found stabbed to death in front of her home this Saturday, October 21. A murder which occurs during significant tensions in the country between Jewish and Muslim groups.
Police have warned against speculation after the murder, this Saturday, October 21, of Samantha Woll, 40 years old and president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, located in Detroit, Michigan.
Known for her commitment in the city of Detroit in favor of the Jewish and Muslim communities, the victim was found “unconscious” by Detroit police officers and doctors, before being “declared dead on the spot”, noted the local police in a statement.
A call for calm launched by the police
“On site, police officers observed a trail of blood which led them to the victim’s home where the crime apparently was committed,” continued the city police.
According to initial examinations, “multiple knife wounds” were revealed. The police, who entrusted the investigation to the criminal homicide squad, specified that “the motive for this murder remained unknown”.
For his part, James White, head of the Detroit police, declared that it was “important that no conclusions be drawn before all available elements are examined”, while the country is shaken by demonstrations and movements tensions between Jewish and Muslim groups since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
