Frankly News – In an acquaintance meeting, the founders of Taqaddam Party (under construction) gathered today, Saturday 3-18-2023, where the official forms approved by the Independent Election Commission were signed, in the presence of more than 700 participants, in the Greater Amman Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City.
During the meeting, the values, vision, and message of the party were listened to, and a number of founding members spoke. His Excellency Dr. Khaled Bakkar stressed the importance of forming and establishing this party at this time, which coincides with the entry of the Jordanian state into the second centenary and in response to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to enhance partisan life and framework within Political parties to push forward progress in various sectors in the country, as Dr. Al-Bakkar explained that the focus now is on quality, not quantity, in choosing the founders, indicating that the party program is applicable and that youth have the largest part of attention and care.
Al-Bakkar added that the idea of the party came a year following the establishment of the Public Policy Forum, in which part of its members and a number of Jordanians decided to go to establish a political party, and announced that the party and the forum would launch an institute for democratic action, which would train young people on party and political life.
In his turn, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hamouri expressed his happiness with this large crowd of founders and reviewed the party’s vision to move towards a strong and impenetrable Jordan whose citizens enjoy prosperity and the party’s message in consolidating the democratic approach through the rule of law, achieving equitable development and building a sustainable national economy with self-reliance.
Dr. Al-Hamouri also indicated that what drives us to establish a party is to be one of the pioneers in achieving visions of political and economic modernization and developing the performance of the public sector.
And because we want a prosperous future for our children and grandchildren, and because we, like the majority of Jordanians, are concerned regarding the high volume of indebtedness, which has exceeded $54 billion, at a rate of more than 110% of the gross domestic product, and the decline in growth rates that have led to a high unemployment rate. A real partnership between the public sector and the private sector in various fields and in a way that achieves national interests, stressing the need to implement the visions of His Majesty King Abdullah II for economic modernization in building a better future in which we regain our leadership in education, advance our economy, and in which our private sector thrives.
In her turn, Mrs. Rania Sobeih expressed the fundamental and active role of women in this new party, as she explained that the advancement of women’s status and their active participation in various fields as a basic pillar of progress and reform, and that the percentage of women founders in the party has so far reached 33%.
She explained that the empowerment of women requires a comprehensive view that addresses economic, political, social and cultural obstacles and challenges alike, and that this is one of the main principles adopted by the Taqaddam Party to empower Jordanian women through the real will to create the legislative and political environment that guarantees the role of women in public life, and to enable Jordanian women to participate Active, promoting the values of citizenship as rights, duties and freedoms guaranteed by legislation, and fully adhering to the principle of the rule of law.
Dr. Mustafa Al-Khasawneh reviewed the most important articles of the party’s statute, including the mechanism for electing councils, commissions and departments, and representing the governorates, and explained what distinguishes this party from other parties.
Dr. Saad Abu Qadis explained the party’s vision aimed at developing the education sector and increasing interaction between teacher and student, in addition to the need to raise the level of income for teachers to play their important role in more appropriate conditions.
A number of representatives of the governorates who expressed their support for the party spoke, hoping that this party would be different from other parties and that it would constitute a quantum leap in partisan and political work in Jordan, where former MP Muhammad Hudayb spoke for Jerash Governorate, engineer Jhud Al-Qumaz for Balqa Governorate, and Miss Hamsa Al-Amoush spoke On behalf of Mafraq Governorate, Mr. Abdullah Al-Dardour on behalf of Irbid Governorate, Mr. Suhail Mortada on behalf of Ajloun Governorate, Mr. Hamza Al-Hijaya on behalf of the Southern Desert, and Dr. Ayed Al-Mualla on behalf of Zarqa Governorate.
