The battle against the “Several Bends” of the Yellow River in the Inner Mongolia area involves a total area of 227 million acres of desertified land. In the past few days, at the site of the photovoltaic desertification control project in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, workers used drones to spray grass seeds between photovoltaic panels. In the spring, these grass seeds will take root and sprout.
So far, Ordos City has completed the treatment of more than 1.9 million acres of desertified land, with an average of more than 10,000 acres of desertified land treated every day. In Liaoning, the two main battlefields of the sand annihilation war in Horqin and Hunshandake, 23 specific projects are currently being promoted. In the Hexi Corridor-Taklimakan Desert edge blocker area, 14 key projects are being implemented focusing on the source and path areas of “wind, sand, and dust”. So far, more than 10 million acres of forest and grass have been planted in the three landmark campaigns of the Three-North Project.
According to the overall planning requirements of the Three-North Project, my country will complete the target of 600 million acres before 2030, including 200 million acres of desertified land and 400 million acres of consolidated ecological protection and restoration results.
