The summit will begin with an inaugural session marked by a official welcome heads of state and government by the President of the French Republic, accompanied by the Secretary General of La Francophonie. Participants will then have the opportunity to visit the Cité internationale de la langue française, a symbolic place dedicated to the promotion of the French-speaking language and cultures.
After this visit, official speeches will be delivered, in particular by the host country, France, the host country of the last Summit, Tunisia, as well as by the Secretary General of La Francophonie. This moment will be followed by a transfer of powermarking the transfer of the presidency of the Summit from Tunisia to France.
The day will continue with a thematic sequence entitled “The challenges of French-speaking citizens in the digital age”which will open up reflection on the contemporary issues facing the French-speaking community. To end this first day, a artistic sequence will highlight the cultural richness of the Francophonie.
