Fans of the detective puzzle duo of Professor Layton and his student Luke erupted in cheers when the new adventure was revealed in February’s Nintendo Direct, followed by a bonus trailer for the first Level-5 Visions , the second part of which ended a few minutes ago. It previewed news of the studio’s upcoming games, but none were as eagerly anticipated as the one surrounding Professor Layton and the New World on Steam. In a new three-minute trailer, the developers gave us a sneak peek at how this direct sequel to Professor Layton and the Lost Future will play out with gameplay, and the more “chibi” character designs are a bit shocking. However, the end of the video left a bitter followingtaste in our mouths, as Professor Layton and the New World on Steam is scheduled to release in 2025. This means Layton will be one of the most predictable games coming to the Switch 2, and we expect it to be officially announced in the first few months, if not before 2024. It’s going to be a long wait, so maybe it’s time to revisit Saint-Mistre, Monte d’Or, or any other place we’ve experienced the adventures of Professor Layton’s series. Watch the trailer below.
