The regular phase of the Professional League Cup is in its twilight and, with two dates left, at least 15 teams of the 28 participants still dream of a ticket to the next stage. Without going too far, in the next few days it will be presented a series of direct duels that will define those classified to the quarterfinals.

The day will begin on Friday with a match that, in addition to facing two direct rivals, has another spice: its classic aroma. This is Vélez-Argentinoswhich will be measured at the Amalfitani from 7 p.m. Gustavo Quinteros’ team, today with 21 points, appears outside the classification zone: it has the same number of units as River, which occupies the last place. Its rival from La Paternal, on the other hand, dominates the table with 24.

Zone A will have another match that will attract several attention. It will be on Saturday at 4 p.m., when Barracas Central – which occupies third place with 22 units – receives Instituto de Córdoba (17), which rests in seventh position.

It doesn’t end there, but on Sunday there will be another crucial duel: Racing (18) and Lanús (23) They have an appointment scheduled in Avellaneda from 6:30 p.m., where those led by Costas will seek to snatch three key units from the leader.

In the opposite group there will also be action that same day, in Rosario, where Newell’s (21)which is below Lanús and Godoy Cruz, will wait for Boca (19) which today, by one point, is outside the green band.

There appears on the scene a crossing that will define a lot. Based on what happens in the Colossus, San Lorenzo can reach its confrontation with Defensa y Justicia with some chance. Rubén Darío Insua’s team accumulates 15 points and is obliged to win both games to be excited about qualifying. Of course: it also depends on the rest of its rivals. That Saturday, for now, will play against Halcón at 7:15 p.m. at home.

And on the next date? Independent will be measured against Talleres, Institute will do the same with River y Argentines must receive Barracas. Zone B, on the other hand, will have other parties as protagonists, namely: Lanus vs. Students, Defense vs. Newell’s and Boca vs. Godoy Cruz.

In total there are 11 direct duels that will exist on the next two dates. Or, rather, 12: Estudiantes and Boca still have to finish the match which was suspended after 27 minutes when they were 0-0 due to the seizure suffered by Javier Altamirano and it has not yet been defined when it will resume.
