“Courage my little one”. After the serious accident near Genech, where a group of cyclists were mowed down by a pensioner driving a Peugeot 3008, several professional cyclists sent their support to 17-year-old Noé Carubba.

World champion Remco Evenepoel shared a photo with a short message: “Courage champion”. The young Noé was also able to count on the support of the Northerner Florian Sénéchal, and Philippe Gilbert. “Courage Noah. He was mowed down by a driver more concerned regarding his phone than his driving, ”pointed out the former world champion, winner of Paris-Roubaix in 2019.

Noé Carubba, licensed at the Charleroi club, had shared a photo of his hospital bed, a few hours following the accident. “Thank you all for your messages”, he wrote, before listing his injuries: “a broken collarbone, broken hip, cracked knee, scratches and a 10 centimeter opening sore”.

According to our colleagues from La Voix du Nord, Friday evening, two of the five victims of the accident were still hospitalized in serious condition. The prognosis of one of them, aged 53, would still be engaged.
