The Chinese company Fiberhome will build its largest European site for the production of fiber optic cables in Kisbér.
The investment of 8 billion forints is expected to create around 150 new jobs. The government’s funding intensity is 15%, the foreign trade minister informed Péter Szijjártó on Wednesday in Beijing. In the event that demand for optical cables continues to rise and an expansion of production capacity is necessary, the company has already announced further follow-up investments in Hungary.
Seventh flight connection
From June, a seventh major Chinese city, Shenzhen, will be accessible directly from Budapest with two flights per week, Szijjártó also announced. The sixth direct flight connection between Budapest and Xi’an was only announced on Tuesday. This means that from June the number of flights from Budapest to China will increase to 19 per week. That is one and a half times as many as before the corona pandemic.

That is why a strong commitment from those who advocate peace is necessary, emphasized Szijjártó at the meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. Hungary hopes for a strong commitment from China so that peace can soon be restored in the region.
