A production of 0km cars in Brazil grew during August, but sales in this category fell. This is what a survey carried out by National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers. In this case, the numbers show a total of 227 thousand units manufactured no period mentioned.
Compared to the month of July, for example, this mark represents an increase of 24%. Even so, this scenario is not very positive if we take into account the sum of the first eight months of the year, in which the production balance is 0.4% below the same period last year.
Another relevant data is new car sales, which according to the survey, experienced a reduction of 7.9% in August compared to July. In this sense, Anfavea related the drop to the end of government tax incentives for the acquisition of models costing up to R$120,000.
Price variations
A KBB Consulting (Kelley Blue Book) analyzed the Anfavea numbers and carried out another study, in which it shows the price variation. Therefore, cars sold in the R$120,000 range had little variation in the Price Variation Monitor, increasing 0.7% in the 2023 lines.
With this study, one point that caught attention was the drop in the market for used and pre-owned vehicles. Here, the study showed that cars manufactured between 1 and 3 years ago depreciated by up to 1.06%, while models between 4 and 10 years old depreciated by up to 1.02%.
