production begins for Jeep’s first electric SUV

Serial production of the Avenger has just started in a Polish factory. Deliveries will begin in the spring.

Are you expecting an Avenger? Good news, the assembly of the models intended for sale has just begun. It happened in Poland, in Tychy, where there is a Fiat factory (even if we must now say a Stellantis factory). This is not the first Jeep assembled in Europe, since the Renegade and Compass are already assembled in Italy.

The Avenger is a doubly unique vehicle for Jeep: it is its smallest adventurer, as long as a Clio, and it is its first 100% electric model. This will also be the only engine offered on a majority of markets (some countries will have the right to a petrol block).

Under the hood there is the group’s new electric block, with 156 hp, and a 54 kWh battery (gross capacity) which gives a range of 400 km.

With sufficient autonomy for a vehicle in this category and a nice face, the Avenger ticks the right boxes for success. And this is confirmed, since the model has received a good reception from critics and the public. It has just won the prestigious title of Car of the Year in Europe.

Above all, Jeep indicates that it has already garnered 10,000 orders since the beginning of December, while the vehicle is not yet visible in concessions. Deliveries will begin in the second quarter. The rates at Tychy, which also assembles the Fiat 500 with the thermal block, may have to be quickly accelerated.
