Shepherd’s pie prepared and sold by the Première Moisson bakery in Plateau-Mont-Royal is being recalled because it may contain Salmonella bacteria, responsible for salmonellosis.

The bakery concerned is located at 860 avenue du Mont-Royal Est, in Montreal. The product in question is a 300g shepherd’s pie, sold from January 11 to 16, 2023, notified the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), by way of press release.
The product was packaged in a black plastic tray, covered with a transparent plastic lid and sold refrigerated.
«[L’exploitant qui procède volontairement au rappel du produit] has agreed with MAPAQ and the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. In addition, people who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away.
Symptoms usually appear 6 to 72 hours following eating contaminated food and usually last three to seven days.
However, no cases of illness have been reported so far.
