Product recall: bouillon cubes unfit for consumption due to defective packaging

After Buitoni and Kinder, these are cube broths that find themselves in the sights of the health authorities, some of them being the subject of a recall procedure. Find out which ones.

These little cubes have become a must in your kitchen. Please note that some of them, sold between April 12 and December 3, are unfit for consumption. And for good reason, a packaging defect can potentially lead to the migration of contaminants beyond acceptable safety thresholds.

Therefore, the brands ask their customers not to consume these products and to bring them back to the point of sale as soon as possible to obtain a refund. If you are unable to return the product to the store, you can also contact consumer service on 05 46 52 30 30.

Pack of eight Jardin Bio vegetable broths

Concretely, the offending product which is affected by this recall procedure belongs to the Jardin Bio brand. This is the eight-pack of salt-free and gluten-free vegetable broths.

If you have purchased this product in one of the stores that sell it (Auchan, Carrefour, Casino, Vival, Atac, Spar, Casino, Cora, E.Leclerc, Franprix, Intermarché, Netto, Leader Price, Système U, G20, Coccimarket and Diagonal) between April 12 and December 3, do not consume it. These are lots 10082022 and 221110 with international item code (GTIN) 3760020505936.

If you have already consumed some of the offending batches, don’t panic, the government platform which lists product recalls specifies that there is “no risk of immediate toxicity”.

One platform for all products

From now on, there is no longer a risk of finding the offending product on store shelves, but you may still have some at home, since the expiry dates vary between August 10 and November 10, 2022.

In April 2021, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) launched the online platform rappel.conso.gouv.fr to centralize all product recalls.

It contains the products concerned by these recalls, classified by theme and accompanied by the brand, the reference (batch number) and the photo of the product. The platform also specifies the risks incurred in the event of consumption of the product in question.
