Problem with visa: ÖFB team boss Rangnick’s entry into Azerbaijan delayed

Due to a problem with the visa, the German and his compatriot, assistant coach Peter Perchtold, had to stay at the airport in Baku for the time being. Two hours after landing, the duo still hadn’t cleared passport control.

“There are problems with the visa. We are currently working to resolve this,” said an ÖFB spokeswoman. The Football Association of Azerbaijan has also been involved and would provide support. The Austrians will play their penultimate game of the European Championship qualification on Monday evening (6 p.m. CEST/live ORF 1) at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium in Baku. With a win, the Rangnick team would qualify for the 2024 European Championships in Germany.
