Problem with the production of displays of the “iPhones 15 Pro” has been solved, says Ross Young

Last week, at least worrying information regarding problems in the production of “iPhones 15 Pro/Pro Max”which would be linked, more precisely, to the displays of new models manufactured by LG Display — so this might delay the arrival of these devices.

After some sources contested that the production problems would affect the presentation/launch schedule of the new models, the analyst Ross Young brought, yesterday, data that indicate that the manufacture of displays for the next line of iPhones is (now) going from strength to strength.

Latest Apple volumes by model by month through August. Pro models increasing as technical issues are overcome.

The Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst, therefore, confirmed that there was a brief initial problem in the production of the top-of-the-line models’ displays, but that this was overcome. It is also possible to note in the graph (above) that the manufacture of displays of the next most expensive devices exceeds that of the “iPhones 15/15 Plus”, corroborating predictions in this sense.

As informed by AppleInsider, LG Display was having specific issues with the cutout of the front camera holes and Face ID components, which led to the growth of dark spots on the display. A new process was adopted to avoid this, in which a “dam” is built around the cutout.

Behind the scenes, solving this problem is certainly good news for Apple, as it will be able to present and launch the new models, as usual (and expected), in September.
