Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, said, “Monkeypox does not exist in Egypt, but we must follow all precautionary measures to prevent its entry into Egypt.”
Taj El-Din added – in a telephone conversation with the “Al-Youm” program broadcast on the “DMC” channel, today, Tuesday, that “Egypt has great experience in epidemic diseases and how to develop plans to combat them.”
He explained that monkeypox is an infectious disease found in West and Central Africa and transmitted from monkeys to humans, and cases of it have been monitored in some countries of the world, noting that monkeypox infections in the world have not reached the epidemic stage.
On the infection with the Corona virus, Taj El-Din said, “The number of cases infected with the Corona virus in Egypt is very low, and the number of infections is not similar to any previous stage of the previous Corona waves.”
He saw that the symptoms of corona on those infected in the current period are simple and much less than the previous waves of infection with the Corona virus.
He pointed out that the Corona virus is still present in the world, and we must continue to follow the precautionary measures and obtain the vaccine that is present in Egypt in abundance.
