A pro-Palestinian rally brought together nearly 500 people on Wednesday on Place Saint-Aubain in Namur. The latter demand in particular that the European Union and Belgium intervene to obtain a ceasefire and the protection of all civilian populations in Gaza.
The Namur Belgian-Palestinian Coordination and the CNCD 11.11.11, the umbrella of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international solidarity associations in Belgium, at the origin of the initiative, call on the European Union and Belgium to put “ “do everything possible to obtain a ceasefire, the protection of all civilian populations and access to international aid for the Gazan population currently in an absolute humanitarian emergency.”

The associations also want the European Union (EU) to demand that Israel lift the siege of Gaza with a view to reconnecting with the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory. The EU “must also provide political and financial support to the ongoing investigation by the International Criminal Court into the situation in Palestine”, they insist while encouraging the Criminal Court prosecutor to make it a priority “so that all war criminals be promptly held accountable.”
